Haiti Update 6/30/10
Reverend Ken called in the follwing update from the trip.

The team ministered into 3 small villages in the La Gonave area. They saw a little over 700 people where a few cases were hard, very tough cases. For the most part, they saw people with deep cuts and things of this nature. They also held evening church services that went very well. From there they will be heading off to another village in the La Gonave area and hold more medical clinics.

FYI... There will be 3 more Haiti trips - One scheduled in September, another one in October and one more in December 2010. If anyone is interested, please contact the VIM office at 603-782-4553 Or call Reverend Ken Whitten at 603-867-9955. All are encouraged to participate.

God bless you,
Louise V. Demers

Haiti Update 5/27/10
Hi all!

Reverend Ken Whitten called today with an update from May 25th to today.

5/25/10
The team consists of 14 individuals - 11 from NH and 3 from CA
They ministered in a tent city area just outside of Port au Prince and saw approximately 425 people who still had not received any medical treatment or medicines since the earthquake. They saw a pregnant woman who was just about to deliver at any moment. They also saw many others that needed special attention and the team was able to care for all of them. The team also carried in 19 duffel bags full of medicines and medical supplies which totalled at least 1,000 lbs.

5/26/10
Once again the team ministered in a different tent city area  just outside Port au Prince and saw approximately 425 people. This was the very first time these people received any medical assistance since the earthquake. There were 2 pregnant women that showed up, almost back to back one was a 48 year old woman and the other was only a 12 year old girl.

5/27/10
Today, the team went to a mountain area outside the Port au Prince area and ministered to approximately 400 individuals. These people are the most needy ones of all. They suffer from various  ailments and many have serious infections. One little girl suffered broken ribs during the earthquake and this is the first time anyone was able to reach them to assist them medically. The team also ministered to another pregnant woman who is about 7months along. The team sent these serious cases to the hospital into Port au Prince via "tap tap" (Haitian mode of transportation). The team ladies also ministered in conference teachings and childrens ministry where numerous salvations occurred in both.

Rev. Ken will keep us updated as often as possible. Please do keep this team in your thoughts and prayers. The Lord is working and is using YOU in your personal prayer and devotion time. We greatly appreciate all your support.

IN CHRIST ALONE,
Louise V. Demers

Dudley Square Ministry
May 1st OUTREACH MINISTRY TO DUDLEY SQUARE IN ROXBURY , MASSACHUSETTS
The weather was perfect for this 1st day of May, and as we embarked, we asked the Lord to send the people. We had a team of ten and the anticipation of great numbers in Roxbury was soon to be realized.
As we arrived, we were welcomed with love and great joy by the women of this ministry.
We had such an abundance of clothing, food, beverages, tracts, and bibles to give away; it was difficult fitting it all into our van. But, we transported everything there and as the day progressed, many came and were blessed with the generosity of the Lord.
We decided to send a team to the sidewalks of Dudley Square to minister to the homeless, hopeless, broken people of the streets. The sidewalks were full of people! We approached everyone we could, handing out sandwiches, crackers, and bottled water. We offered prayer for salvation and healing to those we ministered to.
As we were praying for one man among the people on this busy sidewalk, we were encouraged by a man passing by to “keep it up!” and “God bless you”. One man received salvation right there on the sidewalk as he was walking aimlessly in search for hope. We then met a man named Moses. He had just started a new church in the area and we prayed for the Holy Spirit to guide this man and the Lord’s newest church. We encouraged him in the Lord and asked him to serve and worship with us next month in June.
We then crossed the street toward the bus stop where the Lord has brought us appointments every trip this year. This time we met people from the “Pit” who were provided water and sandwiches. The “Pit” is notorious as a hangout for prostitutes, pushers, addicts, and the hardcore of the area. They were open and receptive to us and we left them with the love message of the gospel.
Then as we approached the bus stop we saw a young woman, Nalene White, incoherent, dehydrated, recently released from the hospital, laying on a bench, and in distress. We went to her and gave her water and prayed over her. Laying hands upon her, we asked the Lord to have mercy on her. Again, a man walked by as we questioned what we should do next, and he said, “Keep doing what you’re doing! Keep praying! Lay your hands on her! You are doing what you are supposed to do!”
We knew the Lord was instructing us and encouraging us through this man.
We eventually called 911 and had paramedics come. She was in good hands as we left. We are expecting a great and wonderful touch of the Lord upon this woman.
We went back to our outpost and headed out. What a day! But, we were not done. As we drove out of the square we were led to a shaded grotto by a city bus terminal, where a group of homeless people were congregating. We met them where they were, and greeted them in the Lord, with clothing, water, and whatever provisions we had left. They praised God. We then joined hands in prayer; all of us about twenty people, and we asked the Lord‘s mercy, grace, and love upon them. They were grateful. Seeds were planted today! The Lord was in our midst. He was in the people. This is a special place.

Matthew 25:40 “And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to the one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.”

XO on Elm Fundraiser
Thanks to everyone who came by XO on Elm Sunday, March 21st to show their support for Haiti Earthquake Victims.   The total amount raised was $4700!  This significantly aided in the assistance provided to five clinics in five different areas, and we tended to 1700 people.  We also went to an orphanage with over sixty orphans, and were able to provide desperately needed medication and vitamins.

Our Thanks to Matt and Rosa at XO on Elm for all they did!

HAITI UPDATE 3/26/10
 Hi all!

Reverend called in at 11:55AM today with the following update:
Yesterday, 3/25/10 the team ministered in the Port Au Prince area, hard hit by this tragic event. Saw 500 people and across the street was an orphanage that was destroyed. They saw 350 orphans and were able to give them vitamins, anti-biotics and other needful items. He's not sure how many orphans were there at that time but 315 orphans died that day. There are approx. 60 remaining and more coming in each day. There were a few young children, approx 3years old that lost legs, limbs, very sad.  Today, 3/26/10 the team is returning to the Leogone area, center of quake which is a fishing village. "The place is completely devastated, completely devastated!"  Please continue to pray. Returning home on Sunday.

Respectfully submitted,
IN CHRIST ALONE,
Louise
